In his specialist Urology practice in Dunedin, Dr Amir Zarrabi manages the full spectrum of Urological conditions. He qualified as a Urologist in 2009 and is also the only Urologist in New Zealand with a PhD in Male Fertility and -Microsurgery.
Whether he is performing major cancer surgery, minimally invasive laser procedures, or delicate infertility microsurgery, there is no margin for error. In order to be able to offer his patients care that is of the highest standard, he has spent time at world-renowned institutions in the USA and Europe, including Harvard Medical School, Boston Children’s Hospital, the Cleveland Clinic, Cornell University Hospital in New York and the Asklepios Hospital in Germany.
Amir performed the first successful micro-TESE in South Africa in 2018 and was part of the surgical team performed the world’s first successful penis transplant in 2014.
It is with up-to-date knowledge, specialist skills obtained first-hand from leading international experts, and previous role as the TD Scott Chair in Urology in Otago's Academic University Hospital, that he is able to offer a world-class service to his patients and those who are dearest to them.
